Application materials should be sent to the University. They will then be forwarded to the Cultural Studies Department. For specific questions about the Cultural Studies program, please contact cultural@gmu.edu.
Students are admitted for fall semester only. The deadline is January 15, 2009. Applicants should submit:
- transcripts from all institutions attended
- a statement of interest

Demonstration of foreign language competence is not required for admission, but is required for successful completion of the program.
Fellowships, tuition waivers, and research or teaching assistantships may be available for qualified applicants.
Students with M.A. degrees should apply directly to the Cultural Studies Program. Students without a M.A. degree should apply simultaneously to Cultural Studies and an affiliated master's program (e.g. in English, History, Sociology, or Interdisciplinary Studies (M.A.I.S.)).
