Mark Jacobs has been elected Chair of the Research Network on Culture of the European Sociological Association. RNC is the largest research network in the association. Mark has previously chaired the Culture Section of the American Sociological Association. Peter Lang has just released a volume he co-edited, Culture, Communication, and Creativity. Last November, he was invited to participate at an interdisciplinary workshop at the Univeristy of Leipzig on the Global Financial Crisis, based on a chapter he had written, "Financial Crises as Symbols and Rituals," for The Oxford Handbook of the Sociology of Finance.
