This course offers an opportunity to conduct in-depth observation of natural history phenomena that occur during the spring in Virginia.   The course involves three overnight weekend field trips to Environmental Studies on the Piedmont, a 1000-acre preserve near Warrenton. Students will have the opportunity to use sound equipment and field camera traps as an aid to developing their own observation skills.   Students will spend time in the field during day and night; learn animal tracking techniques, bird language, plants identification and Native American values regarding natural resources.   This is a great course for anyone interested in science, the outdoors, and for future teachers interested in outdoor environmental education.

A course fee of $170 covers three weekend field trips and supplies.

INTS 398 001 Three weekend trips are required; dates are to be determined with the instructor. Course fee $180.00.
