Natasha Sharma began the PhD program in Cultural Studies in 2016. In 2011, she received her B.A. in English from Kalamazoo College and in 2015 received her M.A. in English Literature from Miami University of Ohio. Her M.A. thesis is titled, ""I Am First An Adoptee': Happiness, Racial Melancholia, and Transnationality in Asian Transnational Adoption." She has taught English Composition/Literature courses at Miami University of Ohio and Indiana University South Bend. Her research interests include transnational spaces, literature, South Asian American culture, kinship work, and The Midwest
