This course provides an introduction to qualitative research methods in sociology for graduate students. Students will learn the techniques for collecting, analyzing and writing-up qualitative research data. This course will also consider some of the central methodological issues relevant to doing qualitative research. We will explore some of the critical ethical and political questions that arise within qualitative research practice. Expect to spend considerable time on your projects both inside and outside class.
