Co-sponsored with the Department of History & Art History and with Scripts N' Scribes; a local arts organization dedicated to the promotion of Arabic calligraphy and ornamentation.

Susan Bordo, professor of Women and Gender Studies at the University of Kentucky discusses her book The Destruction of Hillary Clinton, in which she outlines this destruction in three key areas: gendered stereotypes and double standards, political forces, and media influence. The 11th annual Critiquing Culture Conference is brought to you by the Cultural Studies Student Organizing Committee (SOC) at George Mason University. The theme of this year’s conference of “Social Movements and Resistance” reflects the particularly potent political moment in which we are currently situated. Papers and panels will address, critique, or otherwise analyze contemporary and historical developments of, and responses to, activism and political uncertainty.
