Caroline is a PhD candidate in Cultural Studies. She holds a MA in Arts Administration and Policy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a BFA in Photography from Arizona State University. Prior to her PhD studies, Caroline taught English as a second language in Prague, Czech Republic and in Nashville, TN and worked in higher education administration. Her research is focused on visual culture, political economy, and theories of race and gender. She is currently writing her dissertation, Picturing Capital: Mass Media and the Art of Visualizing Poverty.
