Megan Fariello is a PhD student in the Cultural Studies program at George Mason University. She received her BA in American Culture and Film from Bryn Mawr College and completed the Master of Arts Program in the Humanities from the University of Chicago. Additionally, Megan has spent time working at the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, NY as an Educator and is currently contributing reviews for film-forward.com. Her areas of study include film and television, sound culture, and nostalgia. She is currently working on her dissertation which explores how the representation of historical sound technology in contemporary media is shifting "spectator" engagement to one that is more audio-focused.
