Tolga's Ph.D. study concentrates on science and technology. He has a Bs in Economics (Middle East Technical University, Ankara), an MA in Critical and Cultural Studies (Bosphorus University, Istanbul), and an incomplete graduate study with a concentration on psychoanalysis (New School for Social Research, New York City). His master thesis analyzed what might be called as 'woman as a symptom of man' in Turkish cinema. He has lectured courses on statistics/algebra, and film/media from a psychoanalytical framework and he has written/edited/translated a number of non-fiction books published in Turkish. Tolga's other academic and professional interests are algebra, non-human, subjectivity, popular series, documentary filmmaking, and photography.
