The College of Humanities and Social Sciences is proud to honor Elaine Cardenas, MBA '88, PhD Cultural Studies '13, with the 2024 Distinguished Alumni award in cultural studies.
Cardenas has twice been elected County Clerk of Hays County, located in the Texas Hill Country between Austin and San Antonio. Since taking office in 2019, she has served residents of the fastest growing county in the United States through innovative management practices that provide accuracy and transparency for all of the county’s most important records.
