This year marks the 30th anniversary of Roger Lancaster's landmark ethnographic work, Life Is Hard. It's being translated for the first time by the Argentinian publisher Prometeo.

Roger Lancaster was recently interviewed by Jason Myles for an episode of the podcast This is Revolution. They discussed his latest book, "The Struggle to be Gay (In Mexico, For Example)."

Roger Lancaster's forthcoming book, "The Struggle to be Gay - In Mexico for Example" is being published by the University of California Press and is currently set to be released in February of 2024. 

His most recent book examines circuits and circulation in a variety of historical contexts including military communication, medicine and health, policing and surveillance, automobility and transportation, and optics.

Her current research seeks to recognize Shakespeare and his work as inevitably imbricated in the contemporary market of cultural commodities, a recognition that has consequences for how we “feel” about any given instance of that work.

As Amazon changes the face of capitalist business, it is also changing global culture in multiple ways. This book brings together some of the most important analyses of Amazon’s pioneering business practices and how they intersect with and affect the components of everyday culture.

Cultural Studies professor Alison Landsberg will deliver a keynote speech at the International Network for Theory of History annual conference hosted by the Institute for Social Sciences and Humanities ‘Alfonso Vélez Pliego’ at the Autonomous University of Puebla (BUAP). Read more here.
