Student Noel Lopez Receives Fellowship

Noel Lopez was awarded a National Council for Preservation Education Cultural Anthropology Fellowship with the National Park Service. Noel is currently assisting the NPS Regional Cultural Anthropologist in planning ethnographic work on subsistence fishing along the Potomac and Anacostia Rivers. He is also assisting with a study on the traditional uses and contemporary associations of Antietam National Battlefield, Maryland. Noel also presented “Elysian Planes: Negotiation of Meanings of Hallowed Space,” at the 2014 Virginia Forum.
