The Student Organizing Committee of the Cultural Studies Program is happy to announce that it is time for the 8th Annual Critiquing Culture Conference and YOU ARE INVITED to attend!!
In an attempt to establish a vibrant community for scholars working in Cultural Studies, the Cultural Studies Student Organizing Committee is excited to host graduate students who will present papers specifically oriented toward the examination of cultural objects, whether through Marxist, structuralist/poststructuralist, feminist, or other critical lenses. The broad themes of the conference include:
- Mass & Popular Culture
- Political Economy
- Gender & Sexuality
- Race & Ethnicity
- Representation & Aesthetics
There will be a total of 23 paper presentations and one keynote address given at 4:30 by our distinguished speaker, Professor Cindi Katz of the Graduate Center at CUNY.
