Reading and research on a specific topic guided by advisor; allowed in support of developing a Field Concentration when there is no standing course in the Field offered. Not open to first year students. No more than two 870s are permitted over the course of student's program, each of which must be with a different faculty member. Offered by Cultural Studies. May be repeated within the term for a maximum of 6 credits.
Specialized Designation: Topic Varies
Recommended Prerequisite: Admission to a PhD program, successful completion of all core courses, or permission of director.

Enrollment is limited to students with a major in Cultural Studies.
