As part of our Spring 2017 Colloquium Series, GMU Cultural Studies is proud to present a presentation by Donna Murch, Associate Professor in History at Rutgers University. Her research interests include historical studies of mass incarceration/war on drugs, Black Power and Civil Rights, California, social movements, and postwar U.S. cities. Her recent monograph, Living for the City: Migration, Education and the Rise of the Black Panther Party in Oakland, California, won the Phillis Wheatley Prize in December 2011.
